Carbopol, also known as carbomer, is an acrylic crosslinking resin crosslinked with acrylic acid by pentaerythritol and so on. It is a very important rheology regulator. After neutralization, Carbomer is an excellent gel matrix with thickening and suspension. It is simple, stable and widely used in emulsion, cream and gel.

In a neutral environment, carbomer system is an excellent gel matrix with crystal appearance and nice sense of touch, so it is suitable for preparation of cream or gel. Besides, it has a simple process technique, a good stability, and you will feel comfortable after use, so it has achieved a wider application in the partial administration, especially in the skin and the gel for eyes. These polymers are used to optimize the rheological properties of aqueous solution.
